Get involved in the world of FAIR data!
The lecture series “HMC FAIR Friday” offers lectures on exciting aspects of FAIR data with renowned national and international speakers and is also particularly aimed at interested listeners outside HMC.
The digital world forgets nothing, a common saying claims. However, anyone who has ever tried to find data that is only a few years old on the global web and then reuse it with up-to-date software knows that digital information can very well get lost. To ensure that this does not happen to valuable research data, numerous players in science are currently working on making this data as FAIR as possible - findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
To stimulate and support interdisciplinary exchange in this area, the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) in close cooperation with the Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA) launched the monthly HMC FAIR Friday lecture series in spring 2022. It is aimed at experienced actors in research data management as well as scientists from all research fields of the Helmholtz Association and beyond. The HMC FAIR Friday series feature talks by high-ranking national and international speakers who will bring all participants (even) closer to the world of FAIR data, deepen individual aspects and stimulate discussions. Furthermore, workshop and experience reports from the HMC projects are planned.
Information on the individual events and registration options can be found on the subpages of the upcoming dates. These events usually take place once a month online via Zoom; the language of the lecture is English. All interested are cordially invited to HMC FAIR Friday.
The lectures of the seminar series are recorded and the videos as well as accompanying materials can be accessed afterwards on the subpages of the respective event (approx. 2 weeks later), or viewed directly here on TIB AV portal, where all videos of the HMC FAIR Friday series of events are hosted.
