Centers in the research field Aeronautics, Space and Transport
The Helmholtz Research Field Aeronautics, Space and Transport is divided into three programs: Aeronautics, Space and Transport. These three programs are linked by the cross-cutting theme of digital transformation, which runs through all areas.
Within the Helmholtz Association, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) manages all three programs and thus the entire system chain from basic research to application. DLR cooperates with more than 400 partner organizations in over 60 countries in various projects and is based at 55 institutes in Germany.
The HMC Hub AST is located in DLR's Research Data Management at the headquarter in Cologne; it is managed and coordinated from there.
Also involved are the Institute of Software Technology in Cologne, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics in Oberpfaffenhofen, the Institute of Transportation Systems Technology in Braunschweig and the Center for Lightweight Production Technology (ZLP) in Augsburg.
