Communities of the HMC Hub Earth and Environment
For an exchange of information, it is essential both to describe the contents in a semantically uniform way and to design the interfaces in an interoperable way.
To achieve this, we have begun to exchange information within the Helmholtz Association in the field of Earth and Environment via the "DataHub". We also participate in research community organisations outside the Helmholtz Association, such as the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and international communities like the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP), as well as the Research Data Alliance (RDA).
For example, we are currently in the process of harmonising Helmholtz information and data exchange on semantics through a harmonisation process, called
UnHIDE: Unified Helmholtz Information & Data Exchange
A repository to co-create a high- to mid-level guidance document on implementing a schema.org interoperability layer across Helmholtz components.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to participate.
