HMC Conference 2026: Call for Workshops Open
As part of the HMC Conference 2026, taking place 28–30 April 2026 in Heidelberg, Germany, the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) invites proposals for community-driven pre-conference workshops to be held on the morning of 28 April 2026, preceding the main HMC Conference 2026 in Heidelberg
Under the theme “Metadata in Action", workshops are designed to provide practical insights and hands-on exchange, demonstrating how metadata contributes to better science in diverse disciplines and infrastructures.
We encourage interactive, participatory formats that foster learning, discussion, and collaboration – from technical tutorials to community-driven sessions.
Workshop Proposal Guidelines
Workshop proposals may include formats such as:
Hands-on Sessions (e.g. tools, workflows, ontologies, data pipelines)
Community or Thematic Workshops (e.g. FAIR data practices, metadata standards)
Hackathons or Coding Sessions (e.g. open-source tools, prototypes)
Each proposal should be no longer than 300 words.
