Metadata Harmonization Across Helmholtz Data Infrastructures
We warmly invite you to an interactive online workshop dedicated to exploring shared metadata challenges across distributed data infrastructures. The workshop focuses on how metadata harvested by HMC services – such as the Helmholtz Knowledge Graph and the Dashboard for Open and FAIR Data in Helmholtz - is shaped by local systems, legacy decisions, and external requirements.
The aim of this workshop is to initiate a discussion on how metadata harmonisation across providers can be approached within this complex environment. Short informational inputs are combined with interactive exchange formats to encourage reflection on perspectives, constraints, and practical challenges.
In this workshop, we will:
provide transparency on how metadata is harvested and interpreted in HMC services,
share insights from gap analyses conducted across multiple provider services,
create space for peer exchange on practices, constraints, motivations, and expectations.
The workshop is aimed at data stewards, repository managers, metadata practitioners, and anyone involved in metadata provision within Helmholtz infrastructures.
